The baby continues to receive very useful antibodies from you that will protect her from diseases and infections during the first 6 months of life. If you plan to breastfeed, she will get these antibodies from your milk. If not, talk to your doctor about how you can compensate for the lack of antibodies.

And do not forget to prepare a welcome speech! Since the baby will not see well for some time, she will be pleased to hear the familiar voices of the parents — this will calm her.

And still, practice swaddling while there is time. Most newborns love to lie wrapped in swaddled clothes because this cramped position reminds them of a comfortable life in a warm, cozy womb.
