Do you need a mirror?
Well, your little human is almost perfect: all her main organs are fully developed, only the lungs, the pancreas, the pituitary gland and the adrenal glands continue to mature.
You can say goodbye to the transparent baby! This week, her skin has become denser, smoother and rosier, so you will soon be squeezing your sweet peach. Your baby already has tiny nails on her fingers and toes and a hairstyle (maybe it's just fuzz, but still). In general, she's doing everything she can to look her best before birth, so she can charm her parents the moment she arrives! If you had a mirror inside, the baby would obviously have spun in front of it.
The pea keeps practicing sucking, swallowing and breathing, and her digestive system is fully prepared to eat the usual food of newborns: breast milk or formula.
At 32 weeks of gestation, you most likely feel that the child has ceased to tumble and dance in your belly and has begun to push and arch. This is because she's gotten cramped in the uterus, and she has curled into the fetal position (not very comfortable — try lying down with your knees near the ears!). Most likely, in the coming weeks your baby will settle head down, like most babies. This is because the fetus's head fits better in the lower part of the uterus (which is also shaped like an inverted pear), and nature has designed things so that it's easiest for the baby to make her way into the world head first. Less than five percent of babies prefer to stay on the rump, so do not worry if your baby is breech — she still has a chance to turn, even in the constrained space.
Measuring the baby:
Height: Crown to rump: 11.4 in (29 cm)
Crown to heels: 16.7 in (42.4 cm)
Weight 4 lbs (1.8 kg)
