This "big" boy or girl is already about the size of a quail egg. If you could look inside your belly, you would notice new tiny details: tiny fingernails and toenails (no more membranes!), and fluffy hair starting to grow on delicate skin. The bones and cartilages of the baby also develop: it has knees, ankles, and elbows, and it can finally bend its arms and legs. We bet it is doing exactly that now (just having fun)! The contour of the small spine is clearly visible through the translucent skin, and the spinal nerves begin to stretch out of the spinal cord, making the nervous system more complicated and intricate.

In addition, this week, the baby’s stomach began to produce juice, and the kidneys — more urine. If you have a boy, then it actively produces the hormone testosterone (a real man!). And the baby learns to swallow. True, for now it has to be content with the amniotic fluid, but after a few months it will happily try something more delicious. You will have something to offer it, won’t you?

The baby is very brainy: the head occupies about half of its body. This is all because now the child’s brain is developing very actively and it needs a lot of space. You might not have noticed this, but the tooth fairy has already visited you: tiny teeth develop in the baby’s gums, which will stay there for about six months after birth. Yeah, these are the very teeth that are destined to nibble not only beautiful children's books that you buy with such love, but also, probably, your passport or even a sofa! So, are you scared already? ?
