Second trimester · roughly month 4 · about 24 weeks to go
16 weeks pregnant
Everything Hello Belly has for week 16 — how your baby is developing, what your body is doing, and the small things that are easier to know in advance.

Your baby at 16 weeks
15–16 weeks
More, more activity! That's what the kid thinks about by bending and flexing the arms and legs. No other way: look how well developed are they now! And moreover about "the kid thinks": at the 15th week of pregnancy, the cortex of baby brain began to form, all those convolutions and grooves that will later help your little one please Mommy and Daddy so much with his successes.
Also note that the ears become larger, and the facial features are getting more clear and visible. And the head seems to be decreasing?... No, it's just that the body starts to grow faster, and the proportions become more and more human.
By the way, did you ever wonder why when staying inside of you the kid does not seem to produce any "dirty deeds" but after his birth, he immediately started to (clean diapers have such a short life!)? So, don’t be deceived by his cuteness. He does EVERYTHING there. His first feces almost entirely consist of black-green bile produced by gallbladder, and he urinates every 45 minutes right into the amniotic fluid that surrounds him. They are constantly renewing, so do not worry: he swims clean and beautiful inside you, not up to his years in what-you-suspected.

Don’t frown, listen to Mommy!
There is real magic happening in your belly! Your baby is already moving her eyes from side to side. Moreover, thanks to actively developing facial muscles, she can already squint and frown very expressively.
