Seitan during pregnancy
Of the 1 seitan entries here, 1 is fine. Usually it's how something was cooked or stored that decides it, not the food itself — each entry says which, and why.
Every seitan entry, with a verdict
Sorted with the ones worth knowing about first. Avoid means skip it entirely; take care means it depends on how it was prepared.
Seitan
SafeSeitan is a vegetarian “meat” alternative that is made from the protein of wheat. It is a low carb, high protein alternative to wheat. Seitan can be used as a meat substitute in stir-fry, can be barbequed, and can be eaten as a burger. But be careful: seitan is not appropriate for those who have celiac disease or those who are allergic or sensitive to wheat.
