Nuts during pregnancy

Eat them. Nuts are one of the easiest things to keep in a bag: protein, good fats, fiber, magnesium, and no cooking required. You may have heard that avoiding peanuts in pregnancy prevents allergy in your baby. That advice was withdrawn in 2008 and the evidence never supported it, so there is no reason to leave nuts out. If you are allergic to a nut yourself, nothing has changed — keep avoiding that one. Otherwise the only thing worth noticing is how much salt is on the heavily salted ones. Nut butters are fine.

Sorted with the ones worth knowing about first. Avoid means skip it entirely; take care means it depends on how it was prepared.

    Safe

Nuts are great during pregnancy! They are a rich source of vitamins B and E, natural fats, and essential minerals such as phosphorous, potassium, zinc, selenium, and copper. It's a good snack to take with you wherever you go. The best options are peanuts, almonds, cashews, and walnuts. Eat and store your nuts properly. For example, shelled nuts must be stored in airtight containers or in a fridge to ensure they do not go rancid. If you roast nuts, do it without oil and remember, that nuts when toasted taste good, but reduce the nutrient content. And no, you don't need to skip nuts to protect your baby from allergies — that advice was withdrawn back in 2008. Unless you're allergic yourself, eat them.
